We know too many LGBT+ workers have experienced harassment and unwanted behaviours which are offensive, intimidatory or humiliating.

The TUC research found that nearly two in five (39 per cent) LGBT+ workers have been harassed or discriminated against by a colleague, and a similar proportion (42 per cent) had heard colleagues make unwelcome comments or ask unwelcome questions about their sex life. These behaviours are not acceptable at work, or anywhere else.

To mark IDAHOBiT, the TUC will be promoting their blog which links to TUC guidance documents for members and reps on being LGBT+ allies.

It also contained an e-note on religion or belief in work. Colleagues with a religion or belief and those without have certain rights, by law, within the workplace. The e-note discusses workers’ rights linked to religion or belief and also looks at where those rights can be restricted to protect the rights of others.

Please join us in marking IDAHOBIT and we would be very grateful if you could promote the guidance amongst your networks.
