MU to Sponsor Presentation at The Ivors Composer Awards 2022

The MU will be sponsoring the ‘Ivor for Innovation Award’ for the first time in November.

BBC Radio 3’s Hannah Peel and Tom Service will host the awards ceremony on Tuesday 15 November where twelve Ivor Novello Awards will be bestowed to celebrate the best new music by classical, jazz and sound art composers.

The Ivor for Innovation, which acknowledges an innovative composer and musician whose creative practice inspires and influences successive generations, is presented in association with the MU, with this year’s recipients unveiled at the ceremony.

Tickets to the awards ceremony are currently on sale and the 2022 nominations across nine categories of classical, jazz and sound art will be unveiled from 9am on Tuesday 18 October.

The Ivors Composer Awards are sponsored by PRS for Music and the awards presentation is in association with BBC Radio 3 - they will be providing exclusive broadcast coverage on the New Music Show on Saturday 19 November from 10pm.
