About Shama

Shama is a musician from Nairobi, Kenya specialising in Congolese and East African music. His decade long career as a performing guitarist and singer, bandleader, composer/arranger and producer has seen him work on 3 continents and with a number of great musicians. Before relocating to London in 2019, he led the famous Kenyan band 'Orchestra Masika Afrika' which released 2 albums and performed over 1500 shows in their 4 years together. In London, he is active as a session musician in the African and Latin scenes, performing at several renown festivals and venues, as well as being an educator/academic and musical artist.
