First Aid - How to Handle an Emergency at Work - Glasgow

In this workshop you will learn -

The role of a first aider
How to assess an incident
Manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally or who is not breathing normally
Manage a casualty who is wounded and bleeding, in shock, choking or with a minor injury

Things you need to know -

Course lasts 6 hours
Please bring a photo ID (i.e. driver's licence or passport) to show to the trainer before the start of the course
Please wear comfortable clothing so as to participate in practical exercises
No mobile phones are to be used while the training is going on. Phones need to be turned off during the course.
Attendees cannot do other work while attending the course
Attendees need to arrive promptly and come back from breaks promptly
Regardless of whether you have done the course before or not, you are required to participate and pass the practical assessments as well as the written assessment
In order to pass the practical assessment on CPR, attendees must be able to kneel on the floor
The course will be in English. Translators are not allowed but attendees may bring a bilingual dictionary, if needed. Please let us know beforehand.

The course costs £25 for MU members to attend. As there are limited spaces, please book online via Eventbrite and then email florence.morris@themu.org to arrange payment for your place. Places will not be guaranteed until payment is made and the payment is non-refundable.
