How to Release Your Music

Halifax

25 Jun 2018

7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

A joint workshop by the Musicians’ Union (MU) and PRS for Music, exploring the issues that may affect artists releasing their own music.

Now more than ever before, musicians and artists are taking a DIY approach to creating, releasing and exploiting their music. Some are self-releasing with the hope of securing a future record deal, and others see it as a long-term strategy for their careers.

Either way, if you are planning to release your own music, then it is vital you understand the fundamentals of the music industry and how your music can generate revenue.

You will get an in-depth look into copyright law, legal issues, collecting royalties and other essential subjects. It will be followed by a Q&A session and networking drinks.

The event is free to attend, but numbers are limited so please book your place in advance.

If you have any questions or specific access requirements, please contact the MU North of England Regional office on 0161 236 1764 or by emailing manchester@theMU.org.
