Manchester Jazz Festival 2016 welcomes artists’ submissions

Fancy a gig at the Manchester Jazz Festival in 2016? This is a contemporary jazz event and aims to champion artists playing original work, especially those living and working in the North West of England.

Fancy a gig at the Manchester Jazz Festival in 2016? This is a contemporary jazz event and aims to champion artists playing original work, especially those living and working in the North West of England.

The Festival pioneered an open artists’ submission system and it still forms the basis of the programme today. In addition to general submissions, online applications are also open for the Irwin Mitchell 'mjf originals' and 'mjf introduces'.

Irwin Mitchell 'mjf originals' offers the chance to devise, rehearse and première a major brand new work at the Festival and to have all aspects of the creative process supported financially and logistically.

Sponsored by Manchester Arndale, 'mjf introduces' is all about young regional bands on the first step of their career in jazz. If you are 16 to 25 years old, based in the north west and yet to break into the professional gigging circuit, then 'mjf introduces' is for you.

Closing date for 'mjf originals' is 10.00am Monday 9 November. All other submissions: 5pm on Friday 11 December 2015.

Visit the Festival website for full details.
