Consultation on Managing the Effects of 700 MHz Clearance

Please take part in Ofcom’s consultation if you have or use equipment that will be negatively affected by the 700MHz band clearance.

Ofcom, the independent regulator and competition authority for the UK communications industries, is currently advising the government on a funding scheme to compensate users of the 700MHz band, which is being cleared to make way for more mobile internet.

Equipment that operates between 694-790MHz will be made obsolete by the clearance and will have to be replaced.

Funding may also be available for some sub-694MHz equipment users if they are no longer able to use their equipment due to repackaged digital terrestrial television.

Ofcom has published a consultation for users of wireless PMSE equipment likely to be affected by the 700MHz band clearance. The information they get from this will inform the eventual compensation scheme, so it is important that Ofcom get an accurate picture of the impact of changes.

If your equipment will be negatively affected, please take part in Ofcom’s consultation

The consultation closes on 13 May 2016.
