Cuts to Fife Instrumental Music Service

The Musicians’ Union (MU) is working with the Education Institute of Scotland (EIS) following proposed cuts to the music service in Fife.

Cuts may put up to 45 teaching jobs on the line after the Local Authority put forward proposals to only provide free tuition for SQA pupils in S4, S5 and S6.

A meeting will take place on Thursday 7 December in Glenrothes where members of the EIS and MU will meet to discuss proposals, and to explore a combined approach in communicating the important of these services to the local authority.
