Arts Council England is looking to recruit an outstanding individual to fulfil two significant roles within the Arts Council – to be its national director of Music, and also to play a key part in the London leadership team.

As a senior member of the Arts Council, you must be able to demonstrate your ability to manage the complex and multiple demands of this role. This will include ensuring that the London team contribute to the objectives of the London Area plan and to the wider Arts Council priorities. Inherent in this is your ability to be a credible ambassador and advocate across all the work of the Arts Council.

You will also have lead responsibility for developing and delivering the Arts Council’s strategic plan for music, including its work in music education. You will lead a team of specialist relationship managers across the country and be expected to convene expertise and knowledge, both internally and externally (in this country and abroad) and to develop a national strategy for this area of work to help Executive Board and National Council in determining future direction.

You will need excellent leadership skills with proven experience of leading teams and focusing them on delivering agreed objectives and outcomes: particularly when working in a collaborative, interconnected structure wherein individuals have dual roles and a range of accountabilities.

Salary range: £53,244 to £66,638 per annum, plus excellent benefits

Contract: Permanent, working 35 hours per week, London office
