Do you want to play trade union gigs?

MU members interested in performing at trade union events in the Midlands are invited to get in touch with the Midlands Regional Office.

The MU is pleased to report that its resolution calling for the TUC, unions, and trades union councils to pay at least MU rates at any gigs they organise was passed at the Midlands TUC Regional Conference in February.

Consequently, we are asking MU members interested in playing such gigs as The Women Chainmakers’ Festival, May Day events and anti-racist gigs if they would be keen in being placed on a list, to be held by Midlands MU Office. In this way, when a request for musicians comes in from the trade union movement, we can pass on appropriate contact details.

All we need at this stage is for you to confirm that you are interested in being on such a list, your preferred contact details, and a statement of no more than 150 words about your live act and why you think trade unions are important.

Website and audio links within the statement are acceptable. The list will be subject to review every six months.

Please email your details and accompanying information to your Midlands Regional Organiser, Stephen Brown, via stephen.brown@theMU.org.
