Welcome News for AIR Studios

The Musicians’ Union (MU) is delighted to receive news that AIR Studios in Hampstead, London, may be another step closer to winning its battle to prevent a neighbouring basement excavation.

The proposed development work would have caused serious disruption and most likely temporary closure of their facilities.
The owners of a neighbouring property have dropped their appeal which may be a sign that the fight is over.
The closure of AIR Studios would affect the employment of many session and orchestral musicians, as well as studio staff, producers and engineers.
The MU received the following statement from the management at the Studios:
"We wanted to send you a quick note to let you know that our neighbours have decided to drop both Appeals and both Planning Applications for their proposed basement development.
“We are so relieved and so incredibly thankful to all of you who have supported us over the last couple of years. All of your efforts have played such a huge part in helping to get to this resolution. We cannot thank you enough!
“Currently there is nothing to stop new applications of a similar nature, but if they do we hope we can count on your future support if required. We will of course update you all with more news as and when we get it.  Again...thank you, thank you, thank you! You have been amazing."
