Government Call for Evidence: VAT Threshold

The government is considering a change to the current VAT registration threshold, which may affect small buisnesses, including freelance musicians. They are calling for the public to contribute their opinions and experiences.

The government is considering a change to the current VAT registration threshold, which may affect small buisnesses, including freelance musicians. They are calling for the public to contribute their opinions and experiences.

This investigation is based on the belief that small businesses may be disincentivised from growth if they sit just below the current threshold of £85,000 per year turnover. The government are looking at ways to address this.

If they decide to make a change, this will most likely take effect in 2020.

To contribute to their investigation, you can either respond to their call for evidence in detail or take a seven minute online survey.
