Young Guns Network Launches Year-Long Event Programme for Young Music Industry Professionals

Young Guns Network (YGN), a networking group for young professionals in the music industry, will celebrate its fifth anniversary with the launch of a year-long programme of seminars and events in London.

The launch event will be at The Ministry, London, Wednesday 3 October.

After this, there will be a monthly event which will feature guest speakers, and give young professionals aged 18-30 in the music industry the opportunity to network and form valuable contacts.

Topics will range from music specific subjects – such as music publishing – to advice on career development and entrepreneurship.

Partnership with the Musicians’ Union (MU)

YGN will be supported by a range of industry partners over the next year starting with the MU, BIMM (British and Irish Modern Music Institute), Handle Recruitment, and Remi Harris Consulting.

London Regional Officer, Sam Jordan, explains why the YGN network offers an exciting opportunity for MU members:

“We are delighted to partner with the Young Guns Network for their 2018/19 season. We share YGN's passion for supporting young creators and future leaders in the music industry.

The musicians that we represent will benefit hugely from their upcoming events programme, and we look forward to working together.”

An exciting development for YGN

Remi Harris MBE and Sam Potts co-founded YGN in 2013 with a dedicated team of volunteers from across the industry.

It has since produced over 30 events to inspire and educate young professionals in the music industry and beyond. This includes two editions of the Buzz Jam music tech event, which saw artists and coders collaborate to create new musical instruments and perform them live.

Remi Harris MBE and Sam Potts, expressed their excitement for the coming year:

“We’re delighted that YGN, which has been a passion for everyone who has volunteered and supported the event over the last 5 years, is now able to meet the demand for a monthly event for young professionals, and we’re looking forward to the year ahead!”
