Notes:

1. The duration specified relates to a maximum duration of the finished Track or Tracks not the number of bars an individual musician has performed on.

2. Classical rates can only be applied by a record label where the repetoire to be recorded would qualify for the inclusion in the Official Charts Company Classical Chart.

3. Copies of completed Session Agreements should be sent to session.agreements@theMU.org

Amnesty Period

Please note there will be an “amnesty” period of 2 months for sessions already agreed under the old rates: Any session already organised under the terms of the old 2011 Agreement and due to take place prior to 1 March 2019 will be allowed to go ahead at the old rate.

All sessions entered into under the new 2019 BPI & MU Agreement or which are due to take place on or after 1 March 2019 will be subject to the new 2019 BPI & MU Agreement terms & rates.

New Session Forms

In order to comply with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), which came into force earlier this year, it has been necessary to re-design both the BPI Session Agreement form and the BPI Live Recording Agreement form.

Under the GDPR any consent you give to the processing of your personal data has to be specific, separate from other terms and conditions, and located close to the signature field. In order to comply with these requirements an additional field, entitled “Data Protection” has been added to both forms, detailing who your personal data will be processed by and why.
