£2,000 instrument cover for MU members and more

Every member of the MU can access to £2,000 worth of musical instrument and related equipment cover anywhere in the world. You will also be covered for up to £200 in instrument hire costs in the event of a valid claim.

If you are an MU member but haven’t signed up for this benefit yet – you need to visit muinsure.com and register so that you are covered.

Remember that this insurance policy is subject to terms & conditions. We recommend that you read the latest terms & conditions document for details on what is and is not covered, and any special conditions that may affect your claim.

Make sure that you are covered

You are not automatically insured under our scheme when you become a member of the MU – you must also register with the scheme to obtain cover.

You can do this online using the MU and Hencilla’s website muinsure.com, or you can contact Hencilla Canworth Ltd directly by emailing mu2k@hencilla.co.uk or phoning 020 8686 5050.

Once you have registered at muinsure.com, you will receive an annual email inviting you to update your policy documents.

If you were previously enrolled on an older version of the MU’s instrument insurance scheme, you should re-register at muinsure.com so that you receive an up to date Policy and Schedule containing the latest terms and conditions.

Register for MU Specified Instrument/Equipment Cover

If you are an MU member, you can also register for additional cover at a discounted rate on items over £2,000 and up to £150,000.

How to make a claim

Get in contact with Hencilla as soon as possible after any event has occurred which may result in you needing to make a claim – for example, if your instrument is stolen or damaged. You can get in touch by emailing mu2k@hencilla.co.uk or calling 020 8686 5050.

You should also notify the police of any loss or damage by theft, attempted theft or malicious damage, or if the property is lost whilst you are away from your normal place of residence.
