The Musicians’ Union (MU) is calling on Government and Parliament to introduce a European Union (EU) touring visa for musicians working in the EU post-Brexit.
After more than a year lobbying Government and Parliament for freedom of movement to continue post-Brexit, we believe that an affordable, multi-entry, admin-light touring visa that covers all European Union member states is the best way forward.
With the 29 March 2019 fast approaching, it is more important than ever that we know how musicians and performers can continue working in the EU once the United Kingdom formally leaves.

We’ll be taking the touring visa proposal to Labour and Conservative party conferences, talking to MPs and showing them why working in the EU matters to musicians in the UK.
MU members are encouraged to contact their MPs asking them to visit the MU’s stand to discuss this and other issues affecting musicians. Here’s how:
- Find your MP on Write to Them
- Copy and paste the following text into the email field: “The Musicians’ Union (MU) is backing calls for a touring visa for musicians post-Brexit. If you are attending the Labour or Conservative party conferences this year, please visit the MU’s stand to sign the petition and show your support for working musicians.”
- Add your own personal message and thanks.
- Let us know you’ve emailed; share it on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #WorkingInTheEU, or email maddy.radcliff@theMU.org.
Is your MP from the SNP, Liberal Democrats or another party?
Ask your MP to sign the petition supporting a touring visa:
