LIVE Trust Awards £125,000 for New UK Artists’ Touring Fund

The Musicians’ Union has partnered with the FAC and MMF on the UK Artists Touring Fund as the LIVE Trust distributes £500,000 in the first phase of wider grassroots funding.

BBC Launches Get Singing — a New Nationwide Music Education Initiative

MU members who lead singing with 11–14-year-olds are encouraged to investigate a new range of resources on the BBC Bitesize website, with more content to be added over the next three years.

Tribute to Derek Kimber

Derek Kimber, a cornet and trumpet player whose talent spanned jazz bands, big bands and community events across the West Country, passed away on 30 November 2025. He was a dedicated member of the Musicians’ Union, having joined in 1968.
